About Me

First stop in NZ. Settled in and dealt with all the admin matters, planned our next route, bought a car.

A housekeeping stint that evolved into a web design assignment. Got my first taste of hiking in NZ.

Stayed with a local mountain biking coach and his family. Did video editing. Scrumptious meals everyday.

My favourite town hands down! Did whale watching, seal kayaking, hiked my first mountain.

Undertook another web/brand design project. Enjoyed the Hot Springs so much we became regulars :) Did a bungy jump.

Signed up for ski lessons. Woke up to views of Mt Hutt everyday.

Worked on a local family farm. Weeded strawberry beds, planted flower seeds, tried chopping firewood. Gazed at the meh mehs every day. Dyed my hair blue.

Went on a 2-week trip with friends. Checked off all the tourist spots: Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook, Milford Sound, Queenstown, Wanaka.

Made our way to the North Island. Got into a car accident. Sorted things out and continued our journey through Wellington and on to Auckland.

Stayed with a lovely landlady while the car was getting fixed. Took the chance to explore Northland. Made the trip to Cape Reinga. Went to the local farmer's market. Had the best strawberries of my life.

Tried snorkeling, parasailing, canyoning, sandboarding, surfing.

Start of our "tourist adventure" arc. Did the Pinnacles. Slurped fresh oysters. Went to Cathedral Cove.

Explored Mt Maunganui. Tried a paddleboard. Went to Hobbiton.

Checked out the Red Woods. Rafted down a waterfall. Learned more about maori culture. Visited many geothermal sites. Ate the best hāngī of my life.

Fun fact: Lake Taupo's about the size of Singapore :) Went on a sailboat tour. Visited the World's Coolest McDonald's.

Did many hikes, including one of the best day hikes in the world aka the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

Camped till late and spotted the little blue penguins. Am happy!

Visited Moeraki Boulders Beach. Walked up the steepest street in the world.

High key underrated place. Visited the Nugget Point lighthouse and Cathedral Caves. Also checked out the many waterfalls in the area.

Visited Slope Point, the southernmost accessible point of South Island.

Solo drive to hike Key Summit. Toured the Te Anau Glow worm caves.

Tried mountain carting at Cadrona. Sat by the lake and read a book. I think about this moment a lot.

Did a glacier heli-hike.

Stayed at a cosy ski lodge. Watched the sun rise. Wandered among limestone boulders that served as the backdrop for a battle scene in Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Went on a 2-week trip with family to round off our working holiday.

Revisited favourite spots in the South Island: Hanmer Springs, Kaikoura, Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook, Wanaka, Queenstown.

Went on many hikes including the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway, Hooker Valley, Sealy Tarns, Roys Peak. Skydived as a family :) Did the Nevis Swing. Tried hanggliding.
